Alya completed her Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Ottawa. She received her Bachelors of Science degree (Hon.) in Human Kinetics at St. Francis Xavier University where she was a member of her university’s rowing team.

Alya focuses on incorporating evidence-based treatment consisting of a combination of manual therapy, education, and exercise prescription. She believes in the importance of taking a holistic approach when treating and evaluating patients and building a strong therapeutic relationship.

Through clinical placements and work experiences, Alya has gained valuable skills and enjoys working with a variety of individuals of all ages and conditions ranging from orthopeadic sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation to neurological and cardiac disease. Alya believes in working with her patients to create an individualized program that will help them achieve their goals and get back to doing what they love.

Alya intends to continues expanding her knowledge through post-graduated courses and has the following certifications:

  • McKenzie Institute Part A
  • Foundational Aquatic Therapy (CARI) – Part I and Part II
  • Heart Wise Exercise Training Certification

Alya is bilingual in French and English. In her free time she enjoys any and all activities outdoors from hiking, running, and skiing, to swimming and rock climbing.
