Important Program Announcement from LiquidGym – Effective June 15, 2021

LiquidGym has made the extremely difficult decision to no longer offer general memberships and membership programs (monthly passes, classes or any treadmill/bike rentals). We understand that this may affect you in your personal situation but after much deliberation, we have made this sad decision for the following reasons:

  • Reinstating LiquidGym’s membership program will have a significant impact on additional office and pool staffing, increased treadmill wear and tear and maintenance thus adding additional costs at an already challenging time. The global pandemic has taken an enormous toll on small businesses such as LiquidGym and thus, we are unwilling to take on additional financial burdens.
  • The global supply equipment shortage that many industries are experiencing due to the impact of COVID, has caused the lead time for replacement parts to be 18 months to 2 years. Plus, the cost of those components has also increased by 100% -150%. This has made it difficult to maintain the equipment and keep the treadmills operational.
  • The ongoing social distancing requirement to manage the health and safety complexities of the COVID-19 virus and its’ variants is difficult for our small business. The facility size of LiquidGym is a limiting factor in accommodating the ongoing requirements now and into the future. We must ensure that staff and patients/clients are kept safe at all times.

On a positive note, LiquidGym continues to offer physiotherapy, athletic therapy, kinesiology, massage therapy, acupuncture, Bioflex Laser, reflexology and personal training.

LiquidGym is offering former gym members who opt for one-on-one training, a 20% discount on our introductory training package. Package includes an assessment ($110 plus tax) and eight 30-minute sessions ($360 plus tax) before discount.

A possible option for you is a program offered by the city of Ottawa – Nepean SportsPlex swim for people with disabilities.

Should you wish to inquire about a refund for any outstanding amount of your program fee or apply your program fees to another service, please contact the office. This refund applies to program fees such as passes and classes only. Annual membership fees have expired and cannot be refunded.

We know that this news is difficult but please understand this decision was not made lightly and after a comprehensive review of all programs and services offered by LiquidGym, a final decision has been made.

Thank you to all who have supported LiquidGym over the years.

Respectfully yours,
Karen
